Making the decision to move a loved one into an assisted living or memory care community is emotional and can be difficult. I'm here to help.

How I Can Help

Hi, I’m Cheryl. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to rely on technology, but when it comes to caring for our elderly loved ones, nothing replaces human connection. If you're feeling overwhelmed by the process of finding the right care for your family member, you're not alone. Many families face the same challenge and don't know where to turn for answers.

I’m here to help!

As your Senior Living Advocate, I offer personalized support to guide you and your loved one through this transition. Whether you’re considering assisted living, memory care, or in-home care in Kalamazoo, Portage, or the surrounding areas, or need help understanding your choices, I can help you navigate the process.

If you're unsure of what you need, we'll identify the best options for your unique situation. Together, we'll explore your loved one's life story, their preferences, and how we can make this transition as smooth as possible. As your advocate, I will walk you through the process and help you find the best fit for your situation.

Senior Living Family Advocate provides personalized senior living options for your loved one. I take special care to explore their personal life story. What makes them happy? What care needs do they require? Can the facility provide a personalized care plan for their special needs?  It can be overwhelming, and most families do not know the questions to ask.

I work with private pay assisted living and memory care facilities. We will talk through a series of questions that will allow me to determine which facilities best serve your needs.  I have relationships with the Assisted Living/Memory Care facilities which will expediate the process for you.  You will tour the facilities with a questionnaire I provide for you that will help with your decision making.  Together we will narrow down your options to find the perfect home for your loved one.

Our Services

Assisted Living/Memory Care Guidance: You might be asking, 'What is the difference between Independent Living, Assisted living and Memory Care?' After working 10+ years in the industry, I'll make it simple.

In-Home Care Guidance: You’ll understand who to contact, what services they offer and the average cost of your various options. We’ll explore the pros and cons of staying home. You’ll be ready to make an informed decision.

House Calls: Sometimes elderly parents are resistant to receiving help. A neutral person, like me, can make a difference. I offer face-to-face visits that many of my older clients find comforting and more personal.

I highly recommend Cheryl if you have family members or friends who are planning their long-term care needs whether this is aging at home, assisted living, or higher levels of support. Cheryl not only has over 10 years of experience working the frontlines, she is passionate, caring, and dedicated to her clients. Her passion and drive to help others navigate this challenging journey is why she transitioned to advocacy.

Personally, Cheryl helped our family by answering lists of questions, offering ideas we had not consider or even known were a possibility, and educated us on our options. She is generous with her time and recognizes that this process begins with knowledge and information gathering.

Cheryl knows all your options and has connections in the West Michigan area to support you and your loved ones. On top of all this, Cheryl is a wonderful and friendly person making difficult conversations easier.

I cannot imagine making this important decision without Cheryl’s help. She was truly invaluable. Her wealth of knowledge, contacts, insight, patience and kindness made the entire process as smooth as possible. Her professionalism and thoroughness are outstanding.

She treated us, and especially my father, with such respect and dignity. She was very proactive throughout the entire process from setting up tours, visiting each prospective facility, asking questions and evaluating each one, helping us through the decision process and then facilitating the process of getting dad moved in and acclimated.

Her follow up is also outstanding. She truly wants to be sure that Dad is happy in his new home.

All of this was new to us and Cheryl did such a great job of educating us. This allowed us to make this decision with confidence.

Senior Family Living Advocate should be your first step in this journey.

Just a note to thank you for sticking with our family. It has been so hard and yet you always met us where we were with kindness, patience, compassion, and love. Thank you for the welcome you gave both my mom and dad. You were like an anchor in the storm. It is always nice to see your smile. You definitely made our journey easier.
